Want to feel zen about managing your Direct Debit?
We here at E.ON Next believe paying your bills should be simple and easy! This is why we have a hassle free Direct Debit as standard. Whether you are on a variable or fixed tariff it shouldn't be a complicated process. But to make your life that much easier we have come up with 5 top tips to manage your direct debit.
1. Set up a right date for you!
When setting up your Direct Debit, it is usually standard to set up on the first day of every month. But this may not work for you.
It would make your life so much easier if you aimed for a date that you get paid or that you know will be convenient.
2. Accurate readings.
Giving an accurate reading could do wonders for your direct debit! Not only will it allow us to bill you correctly, but it will avoid any unexpected Direct Debit adjustments.
3. Plan ahead!
Always plan ahead, Take notes of how much income you have and what Direct Debit or standing orders you have. This can be done on a spreadsheet or even a piece of paper.
Note down what Direct Debits are due and when. If you can set up Direct Debits to pay these automatically, you’ll save yourself some time. Doing this will help you throughout the month and you'll avoid any unpleasant surprises.
4. Keep it monthly.
Switching your billing to monthly allows you to keep an eye on your account, helping to avoid the unexpected.
At E.ON Next we bill monthly to ensure our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We know life can quickly change and no one wants to have an unexpected high bill.
5. There are no silly questions.
If you feel that you’re paying too much or too little and aren’t sure if this is right or just want some extra guidance, get in touch with your supplier!
Please note here at E.ON Next, we’d always just ask you to remember that your Direct Debit amount is based on 12 months of usage divided into equal payments. So it’s normal for customers to build debt at the end of the winter, or credit at the end of summer. We use this credit built up over the summer months to offset increased usage in winter.
