Say hey to Energy Specialist and Learning & Development trainer, Ryan!

Hey Ryan, introduce yourself:
The life and soul of any party. Whether it be a Friday Social or in training. I bring the fun element in all that I do! I'm also super supportive of my E.ON Next colleagues and we get through the challenges together and I'm there being everyone's biggest cheerleader on the sidelines!

What is feel-good energy to you?
Getting to the end of the day or the week and feeling like I've made a difference. Whether it be having a great conversation with a customer and brightening their day. Or finishing a day/week training and seeing people go from day 1 to graduation day with the same nervous excitement for the next step I felt when I finished training. Ultimately knowing I have made a positive difference to someone's day.

Name someone in your circle who embodies feel-good best and why:
My friends definitely, I have been lucky to meet some amazing people at E.ON Next and they are there for me always. Whether it's to cheer me up after a tough day or to cheer me on as I am striving for success. These people make me feel needed, wanted and like I can be unapologetically myself and that gives me the confidence and feel-good energy to make a difference.

What's your top energy saving tip?
Put a jumper on! Don't put the heating on unless you need to, bang a jumper on, burrito yourself in a blanket and use a hot water bottle!

What's the best bit of feel-good advice you ever got?
My Ops Manager Kate advised me to not let something that annoys me ruin my whole day. It's okay to be upset or angry at something we're human but learn to separate it from your whole day and instead focus on the good things that day. I've been putting this into practice and it realllly helps!

Describe your week in 3 words:
Manic, Fulfilling and Rewarding.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My Alarm? JOKES - I would say knowing the impact I can have on customers either by being an Energy Specialist or by being a trainer and giving the next generation of Energy Specialists the tools and confidence to service our customers no matter how big or small their issue is!

What's been your most memorable day at E.ON Next?
I have a few! Defo the first day I went to the office - all my team went in and it was the first time we met face to face - Me and Heather got stuck in the lift within a hour of being there! The last Friday training before Christmas. It was Xmas Jumper Day, last day of training and just the energy that day was electric (pardon the multiple puns)! Everyone was in high spirits and it was really nice to experience after a very challenging 2020.

What's your top tip for working well from home?
Getting dressed so it feels like you are actually going to work and still setting an alarm and keeping in a routine of sorts. Also utilising my lunches to go for a walk, even round the block so it is a change of scenery. This always sets me up nicely for the afternoon.
